Serious exterior and interior ingress damage to low pitched 14-degree areas of Scotch slated roof, well below recommended 25 degrees for slate. Roof beams and sarking rotting, compromising entire building structure. Surveys from Stonework's of Edinburgh and MidlothianRS identify shallow pitch as key problem due to unsuitability of slates here. Recommended to have widely acceptable 3-layer felting system applied to these areas only as a viable sustainable alternative.
