Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the order is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on Skene Terrace, Aberdeen, from its junction with Summer Street to the gable end of the George Bennett Mitchell Hall from 18:30 on 7th March, 2023, until 07:00 on 8th March, 2023. An alternative route is available via Rosemount Viaduct, Skene Street and Summer Street. The one-way system on Skene Terrace, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Rosemount Viaduct and Summer Street will be suspended to allow egress from properties. There will be a prohibition of right turns from Skene Terrace, Aberdeen on to Rosemount Viaduct.
Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible.
There will also be temporary one-way restrictions on Crimon Place, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Summer Street and Golden Square from 09:00 on 9th March, 2023, until 07:00 on 10th March, 2023. The permitted direction of travel will be south-eastbound only. An alternative route for north-westbound vehicles is available via Golden Square, South Silver Street, Union Street, Union Terrace, Rosemount Viaduct and Summer Street and also Skene Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Rosemount Viaduct and Summer Street from 09:00 on 11th March, 2023, until 17:00 on 12th March, 2023 and also from 09:00 on 18th March, 2023, until 17:00 on 19th March, 2023.The permitted direction of travel will be westbound only. An alternative route for eastbound vehicles is available via Esslemont Avenue, Leadside Road and Rosemount Viaduct and also on Rosemount Viaduct, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Skene Street and Gilcomston Park from 09:00 on 25th March, 2023, until 07:00 on 26th March, 2023. The permitted direction of travel will be south-eastbound only. Scheduled bus services shall be exempt. An alternative route for north-westbound vehicles is via Skene Street, Esslemont Avenue and Leadside Road.
There will also be a prohibition of waiting on either side on the same stretch of roads.
Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense.
The no-waiting restrictions will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones
The measures are necessary to protect public safety during duct laying works being carried out by City Fibre.
