Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The first effect of the order, which will operate from 04:00 on 14 March, 2023, until 19:00 on 27 April, 2023, is to close the northbound carriageway on the B9077 Great Southern Road, Aberdeen, [ King George VI bridge] between its junctions with the King George VI bridge roundabout and Duthie Park Roundabout. The direction of travel will be southbound only. There will also be a lane closure on the southbound carriageway. An alternative route is available via B9077 Great Southern Road, Stonehaven Road Bridge of Dee (A92), Holburn Street, Riverside Place, Riverside Drive. Also during this time, the A92 Stonehaven Road, Aberdeen, will be one-way northbound, between its junctions with Bridge of Dee roundabout and the Garthdee roundabout.
The second effect of this Order, which will run from 19:00 on 13 April, 2023, until 19:00 on 9 June, 2023, is to close the southbound carriageway on the B9077 Great Southern Road, Aberdeen [ King George VI bridge] between its junctions with Duthie Park roundabout and the King George VI bridge roundabout. The direction of travel will be northbound only. There will also be a lane closure on the northbound carriageway. An alternative route is available via Riverside Drive, Riverside Place, Holburn Street, Stonehaven Road Bridge of Dee (A92) and B9077 Great Southern Road. Also during this time, the A92 Stonehaven Road, Aberdeen, will be one-way southbound, between its junctions with Garthdee roundabout and the Bridge of Dee Roundabout. During this order, the existing width restriction on the A92 Stonehaven Road, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Bridge of Dee roundabout and the Garthdee Roundabout, shall be suspended. Both carriageways will not be closed at the same time, but HGV movements may be impacted.
The restrictions are in the interests of public safety during repairs works by Aberdeen City Council.
