The City of Edinburgh Council (Traffic Regulation; Restrictions on Waiting, Loading and Unloading: South Area) (No 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2022 - TRO/21/29

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to introduce by way of an experiment: (1) amendments to 24hr no waiting restrictions on (i) Braid Ave; (ii) Braid Rd; (iii) Buccleuch St; (iv) Buckstone Ter; (v) Cluny Drv; (vi) Comiston Rd; (vii) Craigmillar Park; (viii) Gilmerton Rd; (ix) Hermitage Gdns; (x) Newington Rd; (xi) Pentland Ter; (xii) Suffolk Rd; & (xiii) Whitehouse Loan; (2) amendments to 24hr waiting restrictions and loading prohibitions on (i) Buccleuch St; (ii) Buckstone Ter; (iii) Causewayside; (iv) Comiston Rd; (v) Comiston Springs Ave; (vi) Craigmillar Park; (vii) Grange Cres; (viii) Kittle Yards; (ix) Lord Russell Pl; (x) Mayfield Gdns; (xi) Mayfield Rd; (xii) Minto St; (xiii) Newington Rd; (xiv) Old Dalkeith Rd; (xv) Pentland Ter; (xvi) Potterrow; (xvii) Ratcliffe Ter; (xviii) Robert Stevenson Rd; (xix) Sciennes Pl; (xx) Summerhall Cres; (xxi) Summerhall Pl; & (xxii) Teviot Pl; (3) introduce prohibitions of motor vehicles (with exemptions) at any time on (i) Braid Ave; (ii) Braid Rd; (iii) Braidburn Ter; (iv) Canaan Lane; (v) Hermitage Gdns; & (vi) Whitehouse Loan; (4) introduce prohibitions of entry (with exemptions): (i) from Braid Rd onto Braidburn Ter; (ii) from Braid Rd onto Braid Rd (nth of Hermitage Drv); & (iii) from Comiston Rd onto Braid Cres; (5) introduce bus lanes from 7.30-9.30am and 4-6.30pm Mon–Fri on Buckstone Ter. Details of the draft Order and related documents, including our privacy notice, can be viewed free of charge either at Waverley Court Reception between 9:30 & 15:30 Mon-Fri, or online from 21/11/22 to 20/5/23 at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/trafficorders and www.tellmescotland.gov.uk. The Order will come into effect on 21/11/22. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may object to the making of the Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation. Objections should state the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made, in writing quoting reference TRO/21/29 to Traffic Orders, Place, 3.3 Waverley Court, 4 East Market St, Edinburgh, EH8 8BG, or by email to edinburgh.consultation@projectcentre.co.uk, not later than 20/5/23. If you are responding to this consultation and your comments or objection relate to any particular location/s or element/s of the proposals, it would be helpful if you could identify those in your response. Should this Order be varied by another experimental order or otherwise modified, there will be a further period of six months during which objections will be invited, beginning with the day on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification came into force.
