On 06/09/22 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the following lengths of road in the town of Cumnock at the times stated below (except permit holders, blue badge holders, and taxis), by reason of likelihood of danger to the public.  These restrictions will make changes to the allocated road space, to promote safe walking and cycling space in the interest of road safety.

 

Blackfaulds Road – between its junction with Craigens Road  and its junction with Lamont Crescent

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:40 – 09:05 and 14:45 - 15:15

Craigens Road – between a point in line with the eastern property boundary line of No2 Craigens Road and a point in line with the western property boundary line of St Ninian’s Parish Church

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:40 – 09:05 and 14:45 - 15:15

James Young Avenue – its whole extent

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:40 – 09:05 and 14:45 - 15:15

 

The Order shall come into force at 08:40 hrs on 27/10/22 and remain in force until 15:15 hrs on 26/04/24, unless the trial scheme is abandoned or varied sooner, and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.

 

Access for emergency services, bin lorries, carers and doctors will be permitted.  Access for residents is permitted when vehicles are displaying a valid permit.

 

Pedestrian and pedal cycle access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
