(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2023

The Scottish Borders Council (Mansfield Road, Hawick) (Temporary Closing) Order 2023 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 13 February 2023 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 19 May 2023 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Hawick Flood Protection Scheme works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Mansfield Road, Hawick from the Hamilton Road Roundabout westwards for approximately 250 metres.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Mansfield Road, Dovemount Place, Wilton Hill, Burnfoot Road and Hamilton Road to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
