(LAWSON FOOTBRIDGE, HAWICK)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2023

The Scottish Borders Council (Lawson Footbridge) (Temporary Closing) Order 2023 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 31 March 2023 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 17 April 2023 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Hawick Flood Protection Scheme works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall walk or cycle across the Lawson Footbridge, Hawick from St Georges Lane to Commonhaugh Car Park.

The alternative northbound pedestrian route is via St Georges Lane, Buccleuch Street, Sandbed and Albert Road to the point of closure, the southbound pedestrian route is the reverse of the foregoing.
