On 10 November 2022 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 62 of the
Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named
Order, for the Prestwick Christmas Lights switch-on which will close the following lengths of
road
Ayr Road - Closed, from its junction with St. Ninian’s Park Lane to its junction with Main Street.
Main Street - Closed, from its junction with Ayr Road to The Cross
St. Ninian’s Park Lane - Closed, over its entire length.
Station Road - Closed, from its junction with The Cross westwards for a distance of approximately 80 metres.
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading At Any Time
Main Street - Eastside - Parking suspended from its junction with Sauterne
Road, northwards to its junction with The Cross.
The Order commences on 27 November 2022 and has a maximum duration of 7 days or until
the event is finished and the closure can be removed, whichever is earlier. Preparations for the
event are expected to commence from 7:00am Sunday 27 November until 9:00pm later that same
day.
The times of the event may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be
implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Access for the Emergency Services and pedestrians will not be affected. Vehicular access for
residents and any deliveries out-with the event area
will be maintained whenever possible.
