On 23 January 2023 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle to wait at any time on that length of New Lanark Road, New Lanark, south-west side - from a point 10 metres north-west of the extended north-west gable of number 10 Braxfield Row, north-westwards for a distance of 140 metres or thereby; New Lanark Road, New Lanark, south-west side - from a point 16 metres south-east of the extended south-east gable of number 1 Braxfield Row, south-eastwards for a distance of 143 metres or thereby; New Lanark Road, New Lanark, north-east side - from a point 3.5 metres north-west of the extended north-west gable of number 17 New Buildings, north-westwards for a distance of 51 metres or thereby; New Lanark Road, New Lanark, south-west side - from a point 15 metres north-west of the extended south-east gable of number 1 New Buildings, north-westwards to the extended south-east gable of number 3 Rosedale Street, a distance of 70 metres or thereby; Rosedale Street, New Lanark, north-east side - from the extended north-west gable of number 3 Rosedale Street, north-westwards for a distance of 7 metres or thereby; Rosedale Street, New Lanark, south-west side - from the extended south-east gable of number 3 Rosedale Street, north-westwards for a distance of 24.5 metres or thereby. This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety.

The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 22 February 2023 and will remain in operation until 2400 hours on 22 August 2024.
